The self-acclaimed leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, has warned members of his group and other pro-Biafra activists that they will be left behind if they don’t stay focused on the current agitation.
“It does not matter who you are, it does not matter whatsoever position you may have held or in what esteem we may have regarded you in the past. On this very solemn march towards our freedom, if you are not able to stay on the path of this straight and narrow you will be discarded and we will march on,” the IPOB leader said.
The statement of the IPOB leader came after thirty-three IPOB members were arrested and paraded by the police following a protest in Nnewi, Anambra state, Southern Nigeria.
Speaking on Biafra referendum, Kanu insisted that nobody on the surface of the earth, no matter the position, is capable of interrupting “our relentless march towards our freedom”.
His words: “My name is Nnamdi Kanu, I am the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra and I serve these wonderful people by the grace of Almighty Elohim, Chukwu Okike Abiama. Some of you are wondering what is happening, some of you are perhaps confused and rightfully so, but we are here to put the records straight.
“We are here to make you understand that this very journey is irreversible. What we are doing cannot be stopped. There is no human on the face of this very earth that is capable of interrupting our relentless march towards our freedom.
“Nothing is going to stop us, nothing is going to phase us, nothing can disrupt this very march towards that promised land of Biafra,” the pro-Biafra activist opined.
Meanwhile, Kanu is leading a group seeking secession from Nigeria. The group has since been proscribed by the Nigerian Government.
