2. PDP Speaks On ‘Secretly’ Working With APC’s Ambode

The Lagos state chapter of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has entered a secret agreement with Akinwunmi Ambode, the governor of the state, to self-destruct the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. The fiery prophet was responding to criticisms over a video that went viral wherein he was seen trying to compel the Vice-Presidential candidate of the PDP, Peter Obi, during the annual harvest and bazaar celebration of the church to disclose how much he would donate to his church project.

4. Real Reason Buhari Rejected Electoral Amendment Bill

President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that he rejected the electoral amendment bill because it could affect the 2019 elections. The president said this in a letter sent to the national assembly. Buhari said signing the bill into law could “create uncertainty and confusion” during the forthcoming elections.

5. FEC Approves 2019 Budget For Presentation To National Assembly

A special session of FEC presided over by President Buhari has approved the proposals for the 2019 budget for presentation to the National Assembly. Speaking to State House correspondents after the meeting, the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udo-Udoma said the next stage was to liaise with the National Assembly to pick a date for the presentation of the estimates by Buhari.

6. National Assembly Workers Threaten To Shut Down Legislature

The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), the umbrella body of workers of the National Assembly, have threatened to shut down activities of the federal legislature if the management failed to meet their demands. PASAN had on Tuesday shut down the National Assembly, picketed the chambers and paralysed legislative activities.

Nigerian TV show host Morayo Afolabi-Brown on Friday broke down in tears as she apologised to her husband over her controversial comments on child abuse. The famous presenter rendered the apology in an emotional moment captured live during a daily television show “Your View.”

8. Override Buhari On Electoral Amendment Bill, PDP Begs NASS

The PDP has called on the National Assembly to immediately override President Buhari’s refusal to sign the amendment of the Electoral Act. In a statement by the PDP spokesperson, Kola Ologbondiyan, the main opposition party said the legislative action was imperative as the President’s decision was a “calculated attempt to hold the nation to ransom.”

9. Action Alliance Disowns Okorocha’s Son-In-law Uche Nwosu

The National Chairman of the Action Alliances (AA), Tunde Anifowose-Kelani, has rejected the son-in-law of Governor Rochas Okorocha, Uche Nwosu, as the gubernatorial candidate of the party in Imo State. Nwosu, some aides of the governors and supporters had during the week dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State for the AA.
