A top source in the EFCC said Nigerian rapper, Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley is still in still in custody of the prison service and has not been granted bail.

The official who spoke to SaharaReporters said the circulating video was mere propaganda by friends of the musician who are desperate to launder his image.

Contrary to a video circulating online which shows the “Issa goal” writer entering a private car and captions suggesting that he has been released, he is to be remanded in prison up until 30th May.

At the court, SaharaReporters saw some friends of Naira Marley talking to journalists to write their story of the arraignment in favour of the musician.

The Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on Monday ordered that Nigeria singer be remanded in prison until May 30th when the hearing of his bail application will take place.

Justice Nicholas Oweibo presided over the arraignment.

Naira Marley was charged to court at the behest of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on 11 count charge bordering on cybercrime, possession of counterfeit cards and conspiracy to obtain gain.
