Arsenal is now close to signing Yannick Carrasco from Chinese Super League side Dalian Yifang.
Talks with the Belgium winger have resounded on over the past few weeks, and it appears his £27million transfer to the Emirates is set to finally be confirmed.
Recall that Gunners wanted Carrasco in January but could not get a deal over the line, so they have returned for him this summer.
However, the report in SportBild says Bayern Munich have recently entered the race for Carrasco and may try to hijack Arsenal’s move for the 25-year-old.
Carrasco has spent just over a year at Chinese Super League outfit Dalian Yifang and Gunners boss, Emery has been keen on finalising a deal for the Belgian in the coming days.
Now the winger, who formerly played for Monaco and Atletico Madrid, has admitted he wants to be back in Europe.
While expressing his keenness to return to Europe, he said, everybody knows he wants to return to Europe from his Chinese club side.
“The whole world knows that I want to return to Europe.”
“Now, it depends on the president and I hope he finds a solution.”
